Playing Style/Triples Issue

I've been using the arrows keys for FFR ever since I began playing. Is it better in the long run to learn how to use asdf or some variation of letters? I have some experience playing asdfgh on keybeat, so it would not be a terrible switch over if I did.

Also my computer will not let me do two of the triples, let alone all four at the same time, no matter what keys I have it set on. 134 and 234 work but 123 and 124 do not.

You should get a different key setup. I use m,./ (from left to right). The arrow keys don't register quads.

I played on the arrow keys for my first 1.5 years on FFR but switched to askl when veterans told me it's much better in the long run. The first week or so was awkward to adjust, but immediately afterwards I got a massive skill boost.

Try it out, I doubt you'll regret it. With respect to the triples issue, I've never heard of a letter combination style of playing not allowing triples to register, so I've got no clue

I tried the m,./ combination and played Red Wings over baron, but the same combinations wouldn't work. I play on a laptop with vista, but I'm sure a lot of other people do too, so I'm not sure sure why it isn't working.

Playing m,./ did help me when there were several consecutive jumps. I'll go play vertex beta now and see if I can bump it up from my worst level rank.

Edit:// I tried fghj and now the only combination that doesn't work is fgh (Left, Down, UP). Unfortunately, the quads still wont work for this reason.

Last Edit:// Issue solved. If I use ghjk my computer lets me do triples. I went from a 400+ combo on red wings over baron to 800+

you can also try spreading them out further to like askl or zx./

on my laptop, i couldn't press quads on zxnm and some triples (xnm, znm)

so I thought that my laptop doesn't register more than 3 so I stuck with that, but then I changed to askl for some reason or another and found I could hit quads on those : D

Yeah, switching out of arrows does help a lot as One Wing Angel said

maybe your keyboard won't let you hit quads, so you could consider getting a cheap new one that hits quads

I switched to ghjk and it works wonderfully. The bad thing is switching styles has my PA down for the moment, but it will come up.

Having all four arrows work simontaneously makes it at lot easier to mash too. I'm not proud of it, but I had a 1 miss run on The Adventures of Lolo because of my new key set up. I have to be careful not to fall into any bad habits.
