    Using Controllers in FFR?

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but I figured I'd give this a shot. Let's say I wanted play FFR with a game controller (a DDR pad or even the RB1 drum kit come to mind.) I tried playing with a controller earlier today, but the game wouldn't register my hits on the controller. Is it possible to get a controller to work in FFR at all? Maybe there's a way to make the controller's buttons correspond to buttons on the keyboard since I can't get FFR's settings to use the actual buttons on the controller. Also, if I were to set the game up this way, would it in anyway be considered cheating? I'd figure it wouldn't be since most songs would be harder played on a DDR pad or plastic drum set, but I don't know all that much about FFR quite yet.

It wouldn't be cheating unless you make it hit the right notes for you somehow. FFR's settings wont let you use a controller because it's made in flash and it only recognizes the standard keyboard keys. You will need a program to convert the game controllers hits into key presses (left, down, up, right). What software you use is up to you, really. Most of it costs money or is freeware or is otherwise really annoying. Right now I'm using Pinnacle Game Profiler. It's a pain in the ass to set up but its the only free (well, trialware) that i could find to do this. Try that program and see if it works for you.

find a program that converts the button presses to keystrokes and then just go from there

im going to try it right now infact

EDIT: download xpadder and just map the buttons to your ffr setup it works for me

the only thing thats considered cheating is mapping two buttons to hit the same column or any button to hit two columns
