A Problem With Our Dear Database?
Um, this may not be a serious problem, but I have to point out something.
It has to do with our dearest FFR Simfile Database.
Lately when users upload simfiles these days, a message accompanies the
file (look under the -Play Now- category), like "File Error", "Not Checked",
or "No SM/DWI File".
Now that last one is there cause the person who uploaded the simfile
probably did one of the following:
1. The file was uploaded in a different way, like an .SMZIP file.
2. There's just an MP3 in the file.
3. Or there's something else stupid in the file put in as some kind of joke
that's supposed to be funny.
But for the other two, I'm not sure what they mean. They appear
more often and the trend stems from Song #36079: PARANOiA MAX~DIRTY
MIX~(SMM-Special), uploaded 4/19/09. Its on page 2 of the Database.
-Here's the thing: when I click on one of these simfiles, I don't see a banner.
Now I know it seems minor, but I'm sure it's a pain in the rear for the simfile author,
especially when I download it I see a banner and bg perfectly
nestled inside the file. There's a banner in, but why doesn't it show?
-Speaking of downloading, when I try getting a simfile, the loading bar
stops in mid-load and just sits there. I have to wait for a half hour or so
until it finally pulls through. Its agonizing because I have a speedy
computer...so it shouldn't have been a problem.
Those are my concerns. Let's hope someone can a find a solution.
