    I'm pretty good at landing complicated patterns and all, but it seems like a lot of the time it's through rigorous spam. And my end result is a lot of boos.

    Keep practicing I guess? or maybe some advice.

          Try changing your speed mod. If you can deciepher the patterns, you will get less boos. And using speed mods helps it so you can see the patterns clearer
