    Speedmod score differences

I recently got a sub and have been playing with 2.25x, but it's been the hardest switch yet. I went from 1x to 1.5x pretty fast, and 1.75x shortly after. I went back and forth between 1.75 and 2x and settled on 2x for more time than the others. Now 2x feels slow to me. I don't think I've ever had very good PA at all, but it actually feels bad with 2.25x, so I can't tell if I should adapt or work on good PA before switching.

So I did a small experiment that I hope some of you can attempt too. I took a song I could barely FC on my normal speedmod (I used 2x for the base) and played it on each speedmod. This was X-Dreamer Final Cut. If you can also try, choose a song that fits you similarly so you can get good result variation rather than a difference of 4 goods.

    1.00x ~ _47 - _16 - _0 - 16 - 29
    1.25x ~ 187 - _67 - 27 - 41 - 42
    1.50x ~ 458 - 116 - 12 - 22 - 24
    1.75x ~ 553 - _49 - _3 - _3 - _6
    2.00x ~ 570 - _34 - _1 - _3 - _4
    2.25x ~ 542 - _63 - _1 - _2 - _8
    2.50x ~ 486 - 114 - _3 - _5 - 31
    3.00x ~ 147 - 173 - _6 - 50 - 93

I just simply couldn't play 1x and 1.25x. I lasted longer on 3x than both of them, but still failed out.

2x, 2.25x, and 2.5x nearly followed a formula, which I found interesting. My PA was about twice as bad on 2.25x than on 2x, and about twice as bad on 2.5x than on 2.25x. I wonder if anyone else follows this.

If it's a song you can AAA everytime, you might even AAA it on the lower speed mod settings. Or the higher speed mod settings. That wouldn't really show the difference in your scores based on the speed mod because then everything looks like a AAA, and then you can say "Oh look I can play on any speed mod HURR HURR"

Using a level you can almost score perfectly well on, but have trouble with, the difference in speed mods shows a lot more.
Yeah I'll make a sig later.

the hardest or highest level you can AAA is what i was trying to say

i didnt mean like play excite bike

but hes playing a song he has trouble fcing so his results are going to change even if he played the song on the same speed mod multiple times

In X-Dreamer it's only a couple tricky spots that give the real misses, so random variance doesn't have much of an effect when I can normally get only 1-4 misses.

Given how narrow the FFR program window is I actually wouldn't recommend 2.25x. 2x is slower than my stepmania speedmod but if I move up to 2.25x there's not enough time to read the patterns properly as they fly up.

Don't see a x2.25, by the way. How do you unlock it?

Hey I just read something in another thread about screencutting. Could be useful for people that feel this way (you could screencut at x2.0, perhaps?).

Wasn't addressing you because you probably know, just saying. If you feel you aren't getting the necessary readability at x2.0, but feel x2.25 is too fast, maybe screencut (I'm sure it's also been suggested before, but I'm suggesting it here).
Yeah I'll make a sig later.

                        Re: Speedmod score differences

The reason I've been so eager to increase the speedmod is because I simply want to increase reaction time -in general- not just for FFR, but it's no good if I keep hitting random boos.
