Do you find songs that looked nigh on impossible, are now quite doable?

That's how it seemed to me. In the last day, I'm now able to do reasonably well on the Easy songs. There was one track I just did (Allison [Heavy] in rock section I think?) that as I played it, I found I was doing pretty good. I missed notes a few times, stopping me from getting FC, but I found it quite interesting that this mess of notes scrolling down the screen are now somehow playable. It doesn't FEEL like I should be able to hit them, but I still manage to (and getting a fair number of perfects too, more perfects than goods)....

You just get trained to hit the keys almost unconsciously. In point of fact, I have not payed entirely close attention to some tracks I've played a bit (Namely Canon in Wee), because my fingers have learned to respond to the visual cues that I do see.

What about you? You find you can play songs after only a while ago finding them to be a jumbled mess?

I thank Sonic I stage in Arcade, followed by Canon in Wee for training me (Sonic I trained me for Canon, and Canon, now that I've played it a load of times for fun, now lets me play easy rank songs).

Awhile ago I used to think that Silence was impossible and nobody could do it. Then I FC'd no problem. I used to think this way for awhile. Now I think no song is impossible. Maybe impossible to AAA or even FC sometimes, but not to beat.

My ability to sight read has declined, but my pa has improved a bit.

yes, i remember back when speed mods were for subscribers only and i wasn't one the first few months i had my account. I was talking to Austin(lXD) and he told me he AAAd Hanabi and i nearly **** my pants.

i thought it was damn impossible haha

then i remember the day i finally AAAd it and i was so happy. and look where i am now

Yes. This is really the best point you can get to when playing a game like this.

Not after only a while ago. For you, playing things like difficulty 4s, progression will come much more quickly; within the same day of playing a particular song, or even a couple days. At my point (I'm playing FMO), it takes much longer to get to the point where you can do something much more easily than you could before.

Haha, funny, I was the same way with Silence back in 2004 when I first played it. I was playing one hand, 1x scroll (no speed mods back in the day), and I had no idea how people could do something like this.

Tried it again today for the first time since then, and got 5 good. Of course, I've come back with 5 years of practice and a spread setup.

i fced GGC the other day when 4 months ago i thought an fc on an fgo was lol impossible

I believe i have improved alot, I remember when i fc'd funk in G and was amazed.
Also when i tried doing the song tetris remix that i would never be able to pass the song let alone the intro without mashing. Now its super easy.

But my PA sucks so bad I have barely any AAA's only 44 =[

Yeah... when I first started I was playing one-handed and I could barely read two notes in a row. Everything looked impossible! Then when I rediscovered FFR after having played SM for a while I found that I could FC most of the songs I had previously thought were impossible - without even trying. And even then I couldn't read a lot of the FGOs and higher FMOs at all, but now there are quite a few songs that I can read and play now that I couldn't then.

I think it's pretty cool how reading ability does that. It's one of those things that never really gets measured, but nevertheless improves over time. Patterns and bursts that looked like a random mess of notes several months ago make total sense now, and I'm sure in several months more I'll be able to look back and say the same thing.

As they say practice makes perfect. I discovered FFR around the same time as Stepmania and playing both improved my playing greatly. ^_^
