What's the difference between Overall Rank and Average Rank?

Overall rank is based on the total points you've accumulated vs everyone else who has an activated account. In theory, its possible for someone to take overall rank 1 playing say nothing but free space, but you would have to play it ALOT and mass a huge amount of points.
Avg rank, as far as Ive been able to tell, takes your ranking from all the songs you have played, and compares them to the rankings of all the songs everyone else has played, and gives you a rank based on your performance. Even playing a song one time you have never played before, while it may not be good, can bring your avg rank down.
To me and Im sure most of the players here, average rank is what you focus on trying to bring down. Overall rank is just letting you know the lower it gets, the less of a life outside of FFR you have :P

overall rank is a measure of how much you play
average rank is a measure of how skilled you are across all songs... someone who is amazing and gets a AAA on 100 songs but never plays more than those 100 songs will have a worse average rank than someone who gets rank 1000 on every song in the game.
average rank the sum of your ranks on all levels / total number of levels. hence, average rank. subscribers have access to a list of the users with the top average ranks... the top1000 users as per overall rank is public.RIPComment
