    Rank question

Okay, so on a level like Stay With Me FFR V1, I can get a score of 13 goods and I have a rank that ends up being 15,251. Well, I just got 71 good and 1 average on Funk in G, and it's ranked 2,252. Way worse score (horrible score XD), but yet over 10,000 ranks difference... and it's not that much harder. Only one difficulty, and just a long song is all.

Is there something I'm missing? o_o Maybe I just don't know how the ranking system works... but it seems to be that if someone has a better score than you, they're a lower rank and that's it. Just wondering how a way worse score is a way better rank...

    Re: Rank question

    i beleve its like this:

...Better score = better rank and rank 1 is better then rank 200

but if no1 has ever played the song... they are auto rank "1,636,191" ... meaning if you play a song you've never played before, your rank will contest with all the people who have ever played that song before...not everyone in FFR, becuase everyone in FFR who has never played that song is rank 1,636,191

Example.. If you've never played Flight of the bumble bee before, your rank is allready "1,636,191", but if you play the song, and fail with completely, your rank will now show that you at least played it, so you'll probally get a rank of like 500,000 or something .. becuase there are around 1,000,000 people who have never played that song before

    ...Enjoy!

      Re: Rank question

it depends on how many people have played the song before. a ton of people have played stay with me, not nearly as many have played funk in g. so its a lot harder to get a higher rank if you play stay with me.

        Re: Rank question

They could add a song in-game,you could play it and get rank 1 because you were the first to play it.

On the other side, there's some files like {Rose} where 200+ people got less than 3 goods because of a token. |:

Depends how many people play the song and that amount of people having good scores.

            Re: Rank question

Just to add one thing: Just about any songs in the funk genre have hardly been played. As such, it's easier to get lower ranks in the Funk genre than when competing with many other players on the more popular songs like Stay With Me, Flight of the Bumblebee, CIA Rave, etc.

              Re: Rank question

Actually, Stay with Me has about 400,000 players and Funk in G has about 250,000. A lot of people have played them (although the concept vantilburg is explaining is correct).

In your particular case, the songs you named differ so much in rank because Funk in G is one of the infamous "Synthlight files". It's very offbeat and people have a really hard time PAing it. Stay with Me, however, is extremely simple, and not actually "offbeat" as much as it is "out of sync" - if you keep a constant beat with the arrows, you'll hit them all perfect.

That's why, in this case, the ranks are so monumentally different. You could play any other easy level like Resistance and probably get totally smashed for getting 70 good.

Okay thanks for all the rank tips everyone

I guess I pretty much knew how it worked, and was just surprised that Funk in G had such low scores.
