    Spread

    I want to start using spread what is the easiet way to go about learning how? Just to play easy songs at first then move on up also what fingers do you guys use for what keys??

    I like to use a setup like

    q: Left
    s: Down
    l: Up
    p: Right

    My exact setup is actually u, k, numpad5, numpad9. Using this setup gives you some distance, and more importantly, it's ergonomic, so your fingers will feel more natural.

      The above works for people that can get used to it, I couldnt get used to the offset of my fingers. Alot of people will tell you to try and space the keys on opposite ends of the keyboard as far apart as you can while keeping the keys aligned with the arrows on your monitor. I.E = use askl or as;' etc. HOWEVER, I found for ME personally, I use sdjk as my keys. Its the closer in I found was more comfortable for me, and it REALLY helped improve on my ability to play streams.

      FFR however is different for everyone. YOUR speed mod, your keys, the direction of your steps, YOU need to try experimenting with them to see what best suits you.

        I find that people with longer fingers find this setup easy. I use wdji on my lappy and qspl on any other computer. Once you find a comfortable position to set your fingers do not change it. When you change anything you will regress a little bit. Whatever setup you decide to use, stick with it. If you are used to 1 handing then when you move to spread it will be hard at first. Just stay with it. Keep playing until you are comfortable playing spread.

              I mainly use CV BN, with middle fingers on C and N, and index fingers on V and B.

                if you're a mavis beacon typer home row d f j k is good but if not try distancing your hands. I find the angled spread too weird so I like having it in one row with my index on a stud (i play d f 5 6)

                        When I first started playing spread, I started out with x c n m, then later moved to e r u i, and am now at a s num5 num6.

                        I think that playing close spread originally helped me to learn the keys, but after you become comfortable with that, and are looking for more speed, to move to a wide spread (or really wide in my case), but that's just me.

                          lmao, just how progressed from playing on the arrow keys, then to the arrows on the number pad, then to how i am now. It seems more comfortable them like zx or as cuz they are too close together for me and i feel crammed. little bit more spread out my way.

                              I'm like you and new to spread. I found (since I'm a natural typist and used to asdf, jkl; for my fingers) using sd kl works for me. Since I use my ring fingers on sl and my middle fingers on dk, my index fingers can sit on fj, which usually has some indentation on it to mark them. This way my fingers feel just like I would if I was typing and I can flow throw arrows a lot easier.
