They don't contradict eaach other in any way, just phrased differently.
The first one says averages, goods, and perfects do not affect combo.
The second states that you keep your combo with goods, perfects, and averages, while you lose it if you get a miss.
It's pretty clear, and you keep your combo if you get an average, but will lose it when you get a miss. Boos do not affect your combo. Got itt?

It means hitting an average doesn't reset your combo.

...no, it says right there that an average does not affect the combo AFTER saying perfects, goods, and averages increase it. The first and second statements aren't what contradict, really; the first statement contradicts with itself.
I'm pretty sure that the second instance of average in the first statement was meant to be "boo".Comment

What I meant to say was that the first statement contradicts itself. I think it's as Zybanthia said and that the second reference of Average needs to be changed to "Boo". Otherwise, it's pretty confusing

i'll fix it.
perfects, goods, averages all increase your combo... although they give different point values. the only thing that breaks your combo is misses. boos just take away points.RIPComment
