So uhh yeah i was playing FFR for a while, and I got umm decent, you know not to shabby, but nothing to brag about. So uhh yeah, I could read fast notes pretty well (don't ask me what beat they were, they were yellow type notes i think... i dunno, they were just fast) and FC difficults and very difficults with some ease. But recently i just got little big planet for the ps3 which stole my attention away from FFR for about 2 or 3 weeks, and now that i'm starting to play it a little more... I suck a lot more. I can barely read the notes i could before, it's like i had a major skill fall back...

yeah it's quite dissapointing and it's painful to play now... rawr...

i'm really not seeing what's so difficult about that

If you lose that much skill that quickly, arrowsmash is not inherent in your blood, and clearly this is not the game for you

This has happened to me many times in the past. I guess you get to a point where that doesn't affect you anymore. At least time doesn't affect me. You need to practice a lot, and enhance your skills. I'm sure you'll be back and better than before with a lot of warming-up.

You should be able to regain your lost skill at a much faster pace than you originally did. Just play through some Standard songs you like and bring yourself back up. What this probably means is that you never built a strong foundation, which means it will be easier for you to lose skill.

I just came back from 3 weeks of no FFR because my speakers died, and I still haven't recovered fully. I was able to FC Ninja Turtle Theme or only miss 1-2 arrows, and now I'm having noticeable trouble on a couple patterns in it. It's really annoying, but you only end up better than you were before.

Do what you love best , but remember : Every ps3 game has an ending


So once you beat the game you'll be bored again and you'll have to come back to ffr because there's nothing else to do again .

I somewhat did the exact same thing except it wasn't for a ps3 game. I thought i just didnt need to practice, see..this was at the point i could AAA challenging and VC songs with some ease..now look at me, i got my first AAA yesterday in about 3 months (ESC lol). Just practice again. Goodluck

umm yeah I think it was because my skill at the 2.0 speed mod was unstable...

and the lack of practice of course. So, yeah, I went back to 1.75 speed mod, and now it's going a lot better than before. Still not as good but still better.

Once you've slammed a good few months into ffr/sm/et all you'll probably keep the skills around with you. The longer you've played the longer you can afford to stay away from.

If you don't have enough time to play regularly, one or two songs still helps.

It usually takes a while to adjust to a higher speed mod. I remember struggling when I moved up from C400 incrementially to C700 on stepmania.
