    Spread not working well...

I tried spread as opposed to 4 fingers on arrow keys, but I think the keys on my laptop keyboard don't respond as fast as my arrow keys do on my keyboard. Is it just me, or is that normal for laptops? I'd really like to play spread, cause my fingers get in eachothers way on the arrow keys...

So you're saying there's a different response time for the letter keys than the arrow keys?
    Hmm, that's a little strange...

It might just be a bad characteristic of some laptop keyboards. I don't play with my parents' laptop unless I absolutely must, but when I do, I will often press my laptop keys just a tad too hard, and my keys will register me as pressing the key twice, giving me a boo. It's possible there's more lag on your laptop, too; I know for sure there is on the one I use.

Suggestion: Try plugging in a USB keyboard and play from that.

alright... but that's kinda awkward... and I don't have space on my desk for another keyboard...

It could be that you're not used to the different timing caused by your fingers being bent differently than you're used to. You think your pressing down correctly but you're either missing the key or hitting other keys or not timing it correctly because the angles are different.
