Here We Go, Here I come!

So, I've been working on my Guru FC's and I'm not doing too bad but Flight of the Bumblebee is killing me. I can't seem to get the rhythm down at all. Not to mention the background is evil and bright. Anyone have any tips on trumping this song? I don't really need to FC it since I've FC'd every Guru and Master song except 3 + Bumblebee, but it'd be nice to get this guy out of the way. Thanks ^^

Jump-mash the trills, and try playing without the music. I did not think the rhythm was very hard, so I cannot contribute much there.

I don't know what is wrong about it. The notes are early I think. But again the background makes it so hard to play off of just sight. Going mute with it made me just miss the timing on the stairs. It's killer. And are there are 1-10 difficulty songs that are notably bitch-hard to fc? I figured since I have cleared all guru's and masters with 4 spots left I'm in the clear, but I wouldn't be suprised if a 10 or 9 could throw a curve in there.

Edit: Good advice. Fc'd it no problem ^____^. No more FMO's for me!

          *Onbeat.

I find this song pretty simple after you follow a couple key rules.

          1) Listen to personal music while playing it. Whenever I play it, I listen to Megadeth or Metallica.
          2) Go to http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/ffrndanotherway.swf and zoom in so it's almost full screen.
          3) Keep the BPM in factor, and remain constant.
          4) If you are right handed, then try mirroring it. If left handed, you can play it normally pretty easily.
          5) Keep your wrists off of the desk or keyboard while playing so they hover into the air. It is easier to remain constant that way.
          6) Background shouldn't make a difference as long as you follow rule 3.

The song remains constant throughout the song. Learn the patterns, and keep up to speed. These tips are coming from someone who has AAA'ed the file, so trust me I know what I'm talking about. :3

Most of the tips I said above works as well, so I will be repeating some stuff, but yes I do. =)

                      1) Do not vibrate. Vibrating may be good for FCing, but it uses lots of energy and it kills PA.
                      2) Listen to personal music if you wish, as I do for every song in FFR. For offsync songs, it helps a lot more than listening to the actual song, or listening to nothing.
                      3) Keep your fingers close to the keyboard, try not to lift them up too much or you will risk time and accuracy.
                      4) Learn the consistency of the song, as AIM and Club both remain constant at the jacking parts. Learning it will help you know how far to lift your fingers.
                      5) Never whore the song. Whoring it will kill your energy, develop mental blocks, and prevent you from an FC.
                      6) Mirror, mirror, mirror! For Club, I recommend mirroring it unless you are left handed. That song is left hand biased near the ending. Although the beginning is right hand biased, it is not nearly as confusing as the ending.

For the most part, practice speed. Play songs that will increase your speed such as Crowdpleaser, Death Piano, Flight of The Bumblebee and BB Evolution. No one will be able to jack with perfect consistency by reading a few tips, it requires practice of speed. Your speed should surpass that of the BPM of the song, not slower or equal as you will lose energy quicker.

                      I wish you luck! :3

Here is how to mirror, my good sir.

All you do, is switch to the opposite "scroll" (If you play upscroll, switch to down; vice versa), then change your hotkeys to the opposite of what they are. I play ASKL so when I rotate I switch them to LKSA.

Now find the "Display" options from Control Panel, then click the tab all the way to the right labelled "Settings". Once there, click "Advanced" to bring up more Tabs. For me one of the tabs says "Rotation", and within that, I can rotate my screen on my monitor 90, 180, or 270 degrees. For now just try 180. But keep in mind, after you rotate, navigating your mouse and whatnot will be tricky since everything is up-side down.

So basically, once in this mode, you're playing downscroll, yet the game is upside down, so to you it looks like upscroll. And since you flopped your hotkeys, now when you see a 'right' arrow, in the game it's actually a 'left', since you're upside down now. It's EXACTLY the same as playing Mirror on Stepmania.

So, for me, it helped GREATLY because I had so many mental blocks to stepfiles it's ridiculous, so having pseudo-"brand new" stepfiles to play now that I'm better, allows me to do amazingly. I'm sure other top players have this issue as well. Plus, I'm a lefty, and most of FFR's jacks are right handed (Molto, Runny, Revo, etc), and I literally can't jack with my right hand. But playing my FFR Mirror mode, I'm jacking with my left hand now and I dominate lefty jacks.

But yeah, to do this, I now have my F9 key hotkey'ed to rotate my screen 180 degrees, and my F5 key set up to rotate back to normal mode. So in normal mode, I'll select downscroll, flop my hotkeys and everything, find the song I wanna play, highlight it, then hit F9, click the song again for it to start, do my bidding, then when I'm done, hit F5 and have a heart attack looking at the score I just got. =D

Also, I understand that many people will be unhappy about this and some people may not be able to rotate or whatever, but.. I wouldnt really say that's a reason to declare it "cheating". Considering not everyone has sweet FFR-capable keyboards, I'd say that's just the same as not everyone having the cabability to rotate their screen. It's all about what ya got.
