Anyone else with " Hand Issues " ?

Title. Has anyone else broken thier hands / fingers and or have shaking hands? My hands Ive only broken once each, but most of my fingers have been broken about 3 times each. I know people will say " well you shouldnt be playing this game " but darnit, I like the game, and I am getting progressivlly better as time goes on.

Im only asking if anyone else has this problem becuase it only seems to really effect me on master or above songs. I can follow the patterns comming down fairlly well, but trying to get my fingers to move that fast cuases them to jerk around alot, and either miss hitting a step or hit sometimes 2 or 3 steps wrong from a spasm. I guess Im looking more for tips from the pros on how to get better at making my hands move that fast without spazing out, so I can better try to overcome my handicap.

    Thanks.

    Peace,
    Shay

Its probably not even your hands screwing up.
Its probably you being able to read the arrows with your eyes, but not your hands.
The same goes with my by feet.
I can read the patterns fine, but my feet don't react fast enough and make it hit the arrow or I go in the total opposite direction.
    Everyone has done this :P
Don't worry, as time goes on... You won't be doing that anymore as you get better.
    Takes time my friend.

I'd say that just about sums it up.

I also have the problem of my eyes being able to read it, but my hands not being able to hit it. I always thought it would be the other way around, that my hands would be faster than my eyes.

Well I do suppose you may be partially right, although belive me, I know my hands are part of the problem. To put it another way : I am not allowed to write anything in my household. All forms, checks, etc have to be filled out by my wife, only becuase no one can read it.

It sucks, thats why Im trying to overcome it :P

Just practice a lot. It will come to you. A week ago I started to learn how to FC Masters songs, now I'm triple A'ing Very Challengings and getting single digit goods on some master songs.

Hopefully the same will come for you. All I can say is practice speed and patterns. During school use a text book and tap as fast as you can, you will get a lot faster just by practicing tapping outside of FFR. (Geography class)

Re: Anyone else with " Hand Issues " ?

I have shaky fingers (not from any injuries, just from my family), and I will slip and hit extra keys/the wrong keys, etc. But any time I do that it's when I'm so focused on the patterns on the screen I forget to control my hands. So it's pretty much all mental. You have to will yourself at all times to hit the correct keys and you're liable to miss whenever you let your mind wander.

I have to twitch my left pinky every so often, and sometimes both my hands, I don't know why though. I just learned to deal with it.

I've broken my right arm so I can't really set it down flat so I have to have my hands hover over the Keyboard to play which is a slow learning process for me but I guess I gotta deal with it :/

I broke my arm, then my thumb. Both of which were very unpainful breaks, both of which caused me a ****load of trouble.
First break was 1 inch from my wrist, second one was 2 CM from my wrist up my thubm line.
I lost 4cm of extension, but gained back 3.8.
                    xD

Oh and on topic. It used to cause me pain when I played too much. (For like a year)

I've yet to break anything in my body or even obtain stitches. But my hand kinda twitch a little. If i miss you just finish the song and play it till it stops.

Sometimes my hands used to cramp up on me. But they don't anymore because I don't play this game much anymore.

I think you may want to be careful not to induce a repetitive motion injury in addition to your previous injuries. Make sure you're using good technique that doesn't cause you any pain (other than muscle fatigue.)

I think it is both mental and fatigue related, though. Do you find it happens more often when you're working on songs that stress techniques you are weaker at or mostly on songs that are intensive workouts? I suggest working on songs that will improve your stamina. Also, try to focus on extra pristine technique at those points in the song you know you'd been twitchy on.

                          One-hander that does alright sometimes.

Are you one of the best one-handers on FFR? Show it here.

                            This was good advice ty.

It happens mostlly on songs with extensive step patterns. I can even hit them just fine for awile, you watch and think " this guy is pretty good! " . . then suddenlly ( and its probably the same repeat as I just played fine ), my hands will just wacko, and I cant hit any of the steps. I have to wait for the section to end and do my best and a new section comes up that I start to follow just fine and then . . .

                            etc etc.

As for stamina that comes with training. Yes my hands CRAMP sometimes, and I even know it happens becuase of what has happened to them, but thats different then what Im talking about. Thats being tired.

                            Peace,
