    question about song lagging

I have a PC that I play FFR on alot, and I have no problem playing most of the songs, but for the really difficult songs with alot of arrows like Flight of the Bumblebee, the arrows seem to skip and lag, and I can't play the song. I just bought a laptop, and the graphics card and everything else is alot more advanced than the PC (by about 5 years) and although I can play FOTBB with more ease, it still lags a bit, and even on regular, slower songs, it seems to lag when the older PC doesn't. Is there a setting my laptop needs to be at for maximum performance, or is this just something that laptops have trouble with???

    Re: question about song lagging

I have the same problem and made a thread about this a long time ago. Put FFR on low quality and that should make the song not lag.
My real birthdate is November 6, 1995 but I'm keeping it as '92 for nostalgic reasons. Lol.

I've done that on both computers, and it didn't seem to make a difference unfortunately.

it's the backgrounds.... most likely. also, MANY people have had issues with running FFR when using Vista, so that is likely the issue with the new comp.

beyond that... not really sure what to tell you.

I'm sure it's just your internet connection. If you are using dial-up or something, it'll do that.

EDIT: Tass's idea makes sense too.

Well, I am using wireless internet, at the speed of regular broadband (same speed as my PC)...so the internet connection isn't the problem, but it does have Vista, so that is probably the problem, along with the backgrounds. Thanks for the help guys.

Vista is what I'm sitting on now and it sucks. I can't wait to get my own computer later this month, only thing is I'm poor and can't afford a mac so it will probably be another crappy Vista since it costs half as much. It doesn't lag so much as skips during songs, but when it does lag I have to unplug the internet router or whatever and plug it back in to reset it and that usually brings me back up to speed.
