The option: Arrow split style

I'm deeply sorry, if this has been up before, but I honestly can't find it if.

So here is my question(s):

No matter how I do it, I never hit a single arrow at this mod. I'm trying to watch it in normal to see their original position, but when I'm hitting the button in split mod, it doesn't hit the arrow, and I get boo and miss. I also try hitting all four buttons at the same time, but I get 4 boos and a miss. I HATE IT!

What is going on? Is this supposed to happen? if so, then what am I doing wrong? Has it something to do with my key mapping?

Help me please.

It only completely works on 1x speed. Keymapping isn't necessary to play with diagonal scroll (aka split), but it is strongly recommended.

To make your keymapping work where the furthest key you use on the left matches with the furthest arrow receptor on the left (and so on going towards the right), you change your mapping like this:

Your normal keymapping:
Left: A
Down: B
Up: C
Right: D

Keymapping for Diagonal Scroll:
Left: C
Down: A
Up: B
Right: D

Hopefully that makes sense. I can explain in more detail if necessary.

For us more experienced users would it be like playing an entirely new step chart since all the keys are remapped to different receptors?

Yup. For one example, all "up down" trills and "left right" trills are converted into one hand trills. In other words, songs like Jelly Roll Blues are ):

For some reason, I'm better with one-handed trills than two handed trills.

If you hit all four arrows simultaneously, you can't get 4 boos and 1 miss. =/

Lest if your keymaps don't allow registry.

You can with diagonal scroll if you aren't using 1x speed. I think it has something to do with how speed mods work with removing frames and how diagonal movement is more complicated in that sense.

There should be a thread or help guide thing about this mod. I never found out how to do this till now either. It looks really cool though.

Usually when "and" is used, a comma is not necessary.

Anyways, just some small things that were bugging me. Now, back to the matter at hand. Oh...Hammy explained it. Well, yeah. Stepfiles are completely different on split mod. Makes it much more fun, like mirror.
