So I'm starting fresh after my somewhat infamous anime post so I want to say something now: WTF? When did they start using hands in FFR? That's sort of strange, but kinda fun.
BloodDrunk[Heavy] was the first song in FFR with hands. It came out on 2/28
And when the FMO/FGO event was taking place, most of the songs included hands.
I'm pretty sure this is because the community wanted harder songs in the game.

The main cap on the difficulty of songs is going to be going away sometime in the near future, so the presence of framers will no longer be making hard songs be hard. Since that saw a huge increase in scores on previously "the hardest" songs, something else had to be done to increase the difficulty at the top end, and here we are.
