    Training advice?

    Yo.
I've been playing FFR for a while now, but I haven't gotten much better at all lately. My biggest troubles are stream songs that involve a lot of combo notes either in a row, or thrown into the stream, and also the more difficult streams give me trouble, with or without combos.

I typically play on Very Difficult - Very Challenging level songs, but I'm not sure why I can't get the hang of it. Songs like Hardcore of the North and X-Dreamer Final Cut are simple, while ones like Hyper High-Speed Star are a big challenge.

    Now, ITT:
What songs should I be playing, or what should I do differently to get better with combo notes and difficult streams?

How do you play? One-hand? Two-hand?

Mercury Lamp might be good for you. Try to find a song that has a lot of jumps or jumpstreams.

        Dance 2, Page 2, Song 5.

It probably has more staircases, but I do not know the difference between staircases and streams.

Streams are just a series of notes in quick succession. Red-yellow-blue-repeat.
I'll try that song out real quick.

Also try CIA Rave(Dance 2, Page 5, Song 1). If you play that over and over, you should better in a couple of weeks.

Last time I checked, you put your fingers on the keyboard, then you start moving them up and down on the keys to the music...

Naw, Mercury lamp was pretty easy for me. Didn't do perfect but I did really well.

CIA rave is one of the ones I have a lot of trouble, with, but I'll try that out and see if it helps. x3

Seems like you're just playing songs that are too difficult for you.

                  Try training in Stepmania.

                    It's not that.
I do alright for a bit, but then I get tripped up on the combo notes and have to button-mash till I get back on track. Because I can just about full combo most Very Difficult level songs.

Use a speed mod. Start at 1.25 and go up until you are comfortable.

Wow. 1.25 speed helped bring my score on CIA rave up almost 200k

Speedmods helped me a lot too. They catapulted me from FC'ing standards to FC'ing difficults/very difficults. Also try songs that you can read most of but have a little trouble with, but not songs you have to mash on.

                            Try upping to 1.5 or 1.75 (I use 1.5).

Honestly. You will do 10x better if you get stepmania than for a month than a year at FFR.
