Jumpstream help

Hey, I've been playing for quite a while now and the one pattern that just kills me every single time is jumpstream. I don't know why but it just scares me, I can get through the streams but the jumps just kill me.



Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

O and I know i have crap PA.

go play silence a whole bunch thats what im doing now i have the same problem

well not on master songs of course but i think you can tap loud and AAA etude to a dragon

I have problems with jump stream also, but not this much x.x

So my advice, it's probably your reading ability, or your fingers are retarded, I'm not sure what my problem is either. The only way to get good at it, is to play a bunch of files with jump stream a lot, being SM has much more jump stream files than FFR, I suggest SM for practice, but FFR does have quite a few songs you could practice on, such as seven.

After playing them for a while, you'll get a feel for hitting jump stream and learning to PA/MA it without having to mash a bit, it'll be natural and somewhat easy depending on the speed of the jump stream.

Edit: also, EnR's post below this is pretty useful to, if you can't do 160 BPM stream, you're most likely not going to be able to do 150+ BPM stream, same with 220 BPM stream, and 210+ Jump stream, etc.

Tapping loud actually is still not a good idea; you wind up focusing more on the movement of your fingers than hitting the keys. In addition, being off at a point makes it worse.

Don't forget that you might get into a habit of it, in addition.

Jumpstream was the last thing I learned how to do decently. It took a long time for it to finally make sense to me.

You really just have to practice. I recommend Robotix as a good song to practice on, as well as Seven.

Trust me, you're not the only one who hates jumpstream.

what everyone else said also try really low bpm jumpstream files like 100-130 bpm on stepmania, then work your way up.

The streams of that BPM I can handle, in that SS i comboe'd up until the first jump in the jumpstream.

Also I never really played SM so if you guys could link me to some files that have jumpstream that would be great.

Jumpstream is easy as hell, I don't see why people have problems with it. I've always been able to do JS.

Lol offtopic but I fc'd etude to a dragon on mini sightread.

uhm, probably try some songs with a lot of jumps, then streamy songs, then try songs with easy jumpstreams, and work your way up. Maybe whore piano etude gymnastics for a while, when you get good?

for your information, I haven't FCed AAA yet. I got 421+ FC including tokens.

If you are a moderate player, play {Frozen} in dance2. That song is very helpful. Start by semi mashing, until you get used to the double taps. I used to have a jumps problem too, even in nonstreams
