Hai.
I was just playing a bit of MP today for fun. The other player was a good player, but one thing just slightly made my mood worse. [drama] The FFR scoring system as I have seen it is mainly based on combo. Thus meaning a high combo helps you get a better score. This is a score from MP today:

The total score system works like this:
Perf - 550
Good - 275
Average - 55
Miss - -310
Boo - -20
max combo x 1000
Taking an extremist case, suppose you were playing FFLBF, and you lost your combo at arrow 1824, yet AAA every other arrow of the song. That would get you 3647-0-0-1-0 1824c, score of 182340, total of 3805540. Let's suppose someone who doesn't know how to play at all plays against this person, and they mash early. They get average on every single note with a ton of boos and don't miss any. They get 0-0-3648-0-2154 (extremist case). Score of 7470, Total of 3805560. Oh, look at that, the person who mashed won by 20 points total, even though their score is 175k lower. After missing the arrow, you would get 550 per arrow, while the other person would get 1055 per arrow the whoel time (+ boos).
With avmisses gone, mashing can help get rather high combos on many songs now without risking avmissing. Although my example was a very extreme case, there are some times when PA should matter more than it does now. It doesn't have enough an influence on the final result of your total to be really useful.
I'm not saying that combo isn't a good way to judge, just that it has way too much an impact on the final score opposed to PA. I'm just a bit against mashing. :/
Kthxbai, homework. :c
