Don't use latent hotkeys, they dont work well on hands. < ^ >

you use 4 fingers? i use 3. and i play guru levels at 1.5 speed, i cant tell you how bad my arm hurts

Yeah I do? get used to 1.75, it'll make your arms hurt less. Trust me.

They work perfectly with hands. I'm betting it's your keyboard that doesn't work well with them.
