    index players!!!

well, i started this to try and find other expert index players to help me out on spread songs., finding crossover patterns, stream jumps, and other bullcrap that most index players have trouble with.

to start, in the song "infernoplex", its an easy stream with a shift at the beginning, but a little after the second stream, there's a mess of triples and such that i can't decode......mind helping?...
I Can feel it arcking from my fingers.....the power.....it SUCKS!!!!..... stupid spread stream.......

oh, the crossover where the left index goes under to hit the right arrow and the left finger crossover from up to left, right? Best way, is to practice it. Try playing Gradeus (ignore the 2-framers, and just play it the entire way). It has good crossovers to practice for Infernoplex.

I find that the easiest way to hit crossovers is to sort of "slide" your fingers over the top of the keys. Don't try hitting the left key with your right index, or vice versa. Just use a "sliding" motion so that your left index finger hits the left and down/up keys, and your right index finger hits the right and down/up keys.

lol, yeh, that usually works when im winging a song, but songs like max forever when you hit the crossovers perfectly keeps you concentrated.... sliding induces panic and kind of screws up the flow of the arrows.... thanx for the tip tho...

I actually agree with this, I've tried using the other crossover methods but none are as comfortable as the 'slide'. Um.. I also play on a laptop so the keys are a lot flatter, and I can slide easier...

Yes, I play on a laptop as well.

I forgot to mention that the sliding method only works on keyboards with flat keys.

i cross over my fingers, like for a left down right down left, my left index will go over my right index and hit the left and right keys, and my right finger will only hit down.

as for jumpstream stuff, i dont study how to do it, i just improvise and "double step" (not sure what that would be called in ffr terms) it like crazy.

but for stuff such as left down up left down up left down up and so on, such as in unknown girl, you will have to slide one finger, or again double step, pretty much the same concept though.

Play 3-finger. Your fingers never have to cross over, and jumpstream is like a million times easier.
