    Looking to Improve

I've been playing with the arrows coming form the bottom and at 1.5 speed for a while, but I've heard that making the arrows come from the top and playing at 1.75 can help you improve. I'm not looking to become an uber player, I'm not too worried about my AAAs or PAs, but I think can play at a higher level than I am now. Any advice?

(Yeah, I knew theres no "perfect" style or speed, some things obviously work better than other things.)

    Who told you that? O_o

You should try playing reverse and see if it helps. It helps me, actually! I play reverse and x1.75! But, it won't necessarily help you. ^_^ Reverse just makes sense to me because games like Guitar Hero go in reverse, if you think about it. =D

Try improving on your weak areas, and moving up in difficulty, try different play styles, speeds, and scroll types/screencuts.

I play on 1.25 downscroll with halfway screencut, so it's the same as 1.75 without such a strong avmiss.

Really? It seems like Stepmania would mess up his FFR timing..... O_o I know I had to adjust to FFR, and I came from Stepmania. Not saying it's a bad idea, just seems like it would get him used to "real" timing, not "early" timing. ^_^

SM skill greatly increases your FFR skill, because it's not that you have to hit early on FFR (except for 2 and 3-framers but that's a different story), you just absolutely cannot hit late.

Reverse has no affect on your playing, actually it's kinda worse because you have the judgment right on top of the arrows. Just play with what you're used to.

Actually, Stepmania would improve it, because given the fact that you
CANNOT hit late on SM, that would decrease your chances of AV missing on FFR by an assload.
