What is with the Stigma Surrounding One-Handedness?

Hello, I'm Bynary Fission. I don't go around this part of the forums much, so I'm going to introduce myself properly. I play FFR a fair amount. I play one-handed, and I like to post in the critical thinking forum. I have an interest in video games, and I program my own games to some extent. Anyways, I'm finished with the pleasantries. Onward to my post.


It seems people often think playing with one-hand and doing well is some amazing feat. I don't understand why they think that. Playing one-handed is easy, and I've beaten some of the hardest songs on FFR with it. I've tried playing with two hands once. Was really difficult, and only served to further perplex me as to why people think playing two-handed is easier. In fact, I didn't even know it was possible until yesterday. lol. Can anybody clarify on this? Thanks.

Because when you full combo an extremely hard song that most good players CANT. You should be proud. I'm proud of my 380 One hand FC's (gotta update sig) because most of the people i know don't even have that many spread, index, etc.

I have made many FCs on easier songs, and a few on ones a bit harder. I don't play as much as you guys, I don't care for being really, really good. But as for "beaten" and "hardest", I am referring to songs like Flight of the Bumblebee. I don't remember if I did superb or mediocre, this was almost a year ago.

Because one hand is harder to do better on songs than spread/index and stuff. So if you like, FC a hard song with ONE HAND that people that play TWO hands haven't, you have the right to be proud. Like i said, i've reached many more FC's one hand than quite a few people have 2 hands.

I've only played one song with spread...and it was worse than I did with one hand. I am comfortable with one hand, and I can FC songs of moderate difficulty, and possibly a few hard ones. But like I said, I don't want to be the best, so I probably will never be as good as many of you guys.

I've only played one song with spread...and it was worse than I did with one hand. I am comfortable with one hand, and I can FC songs of moderate difficulty, and possibly a few hard ones. But like I said, I don't want to be the best, so I probably will never be as good as many of you guys.

By the way you're writing your posts it's almost as if you think that becoming skilled at FFR requires an extremist amount of dedication, but the truth is, even casual play can bring you to the top of the scoreboards in time. But there is no arguement as to the amount of effort it requires to attain the same levels one and two handed, two handed will almost always come out on top. Mostly because it requires less physical effort and stamina, and has more flexibility.

Well, the more you practice on a certain style the better you become at it. Say you practice spread for awhile and become decent. So if you go to play 1 handedly and you suck, you automatically think it's hard. When really you need practice with that style, just like any other style. Sometimes different ways of playing take more practice. So i would assume that it's harder to play 1 handedly and therefor give grats to 1 handed players that do well. Now when people abuse this by saying they should deserve more recognition because they are 1 handed is where it gets sketchy.

What's there to cry about? If you made it to Tier 0, hooray, woopdy doo. I honestly wouldn't care, I'd just focus on the stuff I have yet to get.

I one handed for awhile and then I met Nyokou and admired her AAA's, so I converted to two-hands and got cracking. It sucks at first but I believe overall the horizons of your potential fully expand. I want some seaweed rice crackers.
