    Making A Step File

I'm making one on StepMania and I've made them before but everytime I upload them to the SimFile DB it says Time Change so they can't be played right on the site. I take it that Time Change means the speed of the steps changes in the song? What I want to know is how do I get the whole song to be the same tempo?

To do that, you need to not put in different tempos in the song.

step a song without time changes? most techno/electronic songs are 1 bpm. most rock/live music is not.

Either A) set the song to the fastest BPM in the music, then use 64th notes to sync the beats as best as you can, or B) check to see if faster parts of the song will align to 12th, 16th, etc. notes.
        I fail to AAA.

also... for the simfile db it isn't a big deal... but if you're trying to do your files for any SM file competition/pack OR for FFR the game... you can't do stuff like that. random file for the db, do whatever you want. but what Roi suggests is considered unprofessional and isn't accepted at the upper tiers of simfiling.

He means the songs have a single, constant BPM. Please don't set your BPM at 1. lol

Yeah, if the tempo does actually change, you're going to have to cheat it for use in the db. I wouldn't do that, though. Just make the file as it is supposed to be made. People will download it to their Stepmania.

                I'm working on Dragonforce. xD

Also you can set rock/pop songs to a fixed bpm, but it will be a little weird when the music reaches high/low points and nothing really changes except the number of steps.

OK, thanks. I guess its not that big of a deal if people cant play it in their web browser.
