Big gap between very difficult and challenging?

I've AAA'd a couple very difficult songs but I can barely even fc some challenging songs. What do I do now? Practice PA on Challenging songs?
Also I've only fc'd one very challenging song and I was pretty much mashing a month ago.

Depends, are you playing the easiest VD songs and then playing the hardest Challenging? Cause then this gap would be too much for your current abilities. Plus it is best to start practicing on Challenging so that you can improve in a fast manner and get better PA quickly.

Four Vent was in a tourney and it was pretty much the easiest very difficult song I ever played. Moonbeem was like twenty minutes ago and it was probably mid range but not very long. Thanks for the advice.

There is a pretty big skill difference, but it's easily surmountable. I honestly think the highest skill jump is from 9 to 10 (Which is where I'm at).

Anyways, you definitely need to practice on some Challenging songs. Some I recommend are: Hyper Pressure, ESC Super Version, Etude To A Dragon, CIA Rave, and Carol Megamix for the festive spirit.

Don't worry about necessarily comboing them right off the bat, but just try to get those streams down because that's generally what makes a song a 9 - a difficult stream.

I don´t recognize the problem lol. Actually, I FCed almost all challenging songs and most very challenging songs too, but I haven´t got a single AAA on a regular very diff. song. Still, I can tell you that playing a lot of challenging+ songs improved my PA a lot, so I'd certainly advise to train those quick streams. About the difficulty gap: no, nothing special compared to other difficulty jumps I think. Things get nasty at 10+ songs, because motorically retarded people like me never get used to those ridiculously fast streams -_-.

You can't really judge how good someone is just by saying that. For example, I have pretty much mastered very difficult and lower as in AAA's, but I have trouble fcing songs only one level higher and up. (which is what I need to work on)

IMO, I think the biggest GAP is between 5 and 6, from the introducing of 16th notes. VD to Challenging is a pretty big gap. It doesn't seem like anything has any gap if you compare the hardest song in the lower difficulty to the easiest song in the higher difficulty. On average, challenging is quite a step up from VD. VC to FMO is also a big gap as well as FMO to FGO. I have 13 FMO FCs but 0 FGO FCs.

Gaps are just something we need to live with. We have to hope that playing the hardest songs in the highest difficulty you feel comfortable with will make you good enough to move on to the easier songs of the difficulty above.

FMO to FGO is definately the hardest gap. I mean, think about it. Songs like Vertex Beta, up to songs like BB_Revenge ROFL.

technically the biggest gap is between for guru's only and the only song a level higher than that vertex beta vrofl but thats kind of a non factor.
