Perfect Atttack.

It's been 2 years, and I hit Goods 20% of the time.
Literally.

How do I improve PA as a spread user?

I can combo stuff no problem.. but PA just sucks plain balls.

use a different speed mod... screen cut more/less... hit either earlier or later, depending on if you're consistently getting goods late or early... get better timing...

My PA improved a lot when I played SM with Ridiculous timing. After only three days playing for about an hour each day.

Since no one's said it yet, try playing stepmania and change the judging to like J5 or J6 and also change the CMOD to be higher, something slightly faster than what you use in FFR, I use 1.5x so a CMOD of like 600 helps my PA.

I've never tried ridiculous timing but I'm sure that will help your PA too. I should do that...

try changing the judgement timing in sm or the mods you use like others have already said.

Or try what i have done in the past pick your favorite song then choose a bpm (for me 400) then pick different step combos i.e. crossovers stairs streams ect. and do that a bunch of times and make the judgement timing harder as you get better at this and watch how much easier ffr gets....or just play a song at an insane bpm and then switch to a slower one. faster reflexes FTW!

i've noticed a long winded break from ffr does wonders when you get back on here. i was told that same thing goes for languages when you don't use them for a while. i took two breaks from ffr. both over 3 months. when i came back both times i was able to fc and aaa/sdg songs i would never think of touching base on. not telling you to quit or anything. . just something to keep in mind.

other things i could mention already have been stated. use a speed mod if you already don't and don't know it makes the arrows more clear. uhhh. . . . yes. -- end help rant.

Breaks have always helped me overcome plateaus. Playing SM a little will help you (you don't have to do anything special, just playing for MA is good enough to help your FFR PA.)

Recommending Stepmania almost seems like an odd way to suggest getting good at PA. I mean, then they're just gonna ask you how to get good in Stepmania, rofl.

Still, I started in Stepmania and I have really good PA (equal to my combo ability), so maybe it works.

Hard songs = better PA. Once you can pick out beats at higher speeds, your precision on easier songs will increase. Of course, for perfection/AAAs, you'll need to play SM on high judge levels.

Listen to music, hear the rhythm, feel the beat.
I've played piano for ~7 years now, thats possibly why I'm, as well as getting a good combo, able to get a very good PA.
