Need tips for Spread

Obviously being new to spread is killing my score, but I need to get used to both if I'm gonna do well on crazy-ass songs.

I normally play with both middle fingers, in an index-like fashion.
For spread, I've been using both middle fingers, and both index fingers with AS and KL.

Tips?

My biggest trouble on spread seems to be repeated notes... such as if there's a right arrow every quarter or that.

Let me get this straight, your setup is:
Left middle: A
Left index: S
Right index: K
Right middle: L

If that's so, then my best advice is to stop playing index. If you want to make the switch successfully, then its best if you only play one style and improve at it.

Also, unless you're playing MP games to get better, your score doesn't matter. It's not like your rank can go down for playing a song...

Keep practicing. Just start from the easiest songs and work your way up.

I had the same problem switching from 1 handed to spread. Just play like your starting from scratch. Play 1.25 and work your way up to 1.5 or 1.75. Also just play easy songs until you feel confident with them. Dont try and play song that you used to be good at.
But overall, it wont take very long to get better then you were before, so just keep at it.

I don't have any tips for spread, but I do have a tip for message board etiquette; use the search function. I hate to be the grouch that says this but no joke, two topics a week on this is silly.

I feel like I just saw this.
Yesterday.

Switch back and forth between index and spread until you can do spread just as well as index, then stop playing index.

If you have a problem with repeated notes, play first try a bunch. That will help.
