    Mod woes

Ok, I've played FFR for two years (this is a new account), and have always played half screened. Someone told me I could up my accuracy (something I need badly) if I used speed mods. At 1.25 speed, there are still too many arrows, and at 1.5 the arrows are just too fast (I was always better at FFR half screened than I was at SM on any speed mod). I tried 1.25 speed with a half screen and that was playable but lowered my score. I moved it to show 3/4 of the screen with the 1.25 and I get a way better PA, but I can't FC half the songs I used to. Is there anything else I can do/try to make my accuracy go up, without messing with my consistency? Does anyone else have simular problems? I'm about to forget the mods and just play half screened...

I have a similar problem. I played 2x with no cut for a few months. Now I switched to 1.75 and I get a lot worse accuracy, but I can FC some songs better. I guess all you need to do is get used to the new environment.

Mods are optional to use. You don't have to use them. I'd say stick with the style you're best with (apparently 1x screencut). You'll improve your PA overtime; it's not a one-day process.

Well I use a 1.5 speed mod with a full screen. So I really don't know if your problom is not enough practice with speed mods or the half screen. so ya practice I guess, or you could just keep playing the way you would.

So is this problem just a "I need more practice problem?" Or is it the mod isn't going to help me?

It's a "Some new functionalities work well with player styles, some don't. Maybe more practice to get used to the speed mods will help, maybe you should stick with what you know and works for you." thing.

Personally, if one style greatly improves your PA, but you can't FC as much anymore, I'd stick with that for a while. If you get enough used to it to get your ability to FC back, the improved PA will make a -huge- difference.

well i know personally i can fc songs way better at 1.5 than at 1.75, but then i could never get Maxx Atraxx <--(sp) with 1.5, i'd always have over 230 goods... then i played it on 1.75, and it upped my accuracy and i got that skill token in one go, however on the harder songs i just can't keep up i guess. so now i'm bak to playing 1.5

                  Re: Mod woes

                  I started out screencutting.
Didn't really like speed mods a hole lot.
                  Now I play 1.75x.
You just have to get used to it really, and try playing SM at very high speeds, so FFR will be a sinch.

You could wait until they release R3 (Who knows when). I've heard you can set your speed modifications precisely to any exact speed number you please.

try out all the combos you can,
                      stick with the best one,
                      and obviously practice

                        Re: Mod woes

the answer for me.... 1.75, 1.5 looks fast, but at 1.75, i just see a blur, i dont know what im doing, but im hitting my arrows! as long as i dont think, i hit them good. still havent broke any high ranks for me, but i think thats because i got lucky on the songs and mashed em.

                        be back after work...later all.
