Yeah. Don't bother switching to spread yet. Play one handed, and actually have fun, then switch when you want to compete on the higher levels. With one handing Full Comboing and SDGing (maybe even AAAing) is your goal. While spreading getting the least amount of goods is your goal.
As for getting better.

Don't play one handed, it's usually not succesful, going two handed early will be helpful in the long run.
The most helpful thing i can say is play one difficulty above what your capable of, and once you can finish that difficulty aim for a difficulty higher, trying to whore hard songs (cia rave/etude to a dragon or dance 2 songs) isnt smart, itll be hard for you to learn those patterns.
Heh, one-handed vs. two-handed seems to turn into a war quite often.
The fact is, playing with two hands is factually more effective than playing with one hand. If you started playing with one hand, you may disagree when you try playing with two hands just because you're not used to it. But let's look at it logically: try walking with one leg, or seeing with one eye.
When you play with one hand, you are basically attempting to cover all four keys with that one hand. Even the thought of covering two keys with a single hand should be more appealing.
In the end, everybody should play how they want to play, because that's more fun, and there's nothing wrong with that. Saying one way is "more fun" or "better" than another is completely subjective. But if you want to improve, switching to spread is the best way to do it.

Agreed. Spread IS a much better style to be good with.
Yes i agree. One handed takes a lot of patience and practice. I remember I kept trying to play spread and kept going back to 1 hand. Eventually I got used to spread.
