I've been playing FFR for about two years now but I just recently switched to index, about a month ago. I can FC difficult and very difficult songs, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips or anything that would help me with my indexing, Anything would be appreciated. Thanks

Learn your patters. Play spread.

Re: Any tips for index?
I agree with Spinal, learn how to play FFR instead of Index. The best and easiest way to play FFR is spread. If you want to be super manly and play Index then I would play with middle finger on up arrow and down arrow, other two fingers on left and right.Comment

Re: Any tips for index?
I think that a lot of people are against us indexers.
I have always played index because that's what I am comfortable with.
I don't really know what to tell you for advice.
People say that screen shrinking helps but it doesn't for me.
do you have problems with streaming doubles?

Re: Any tips for index?
Always played index, my advice is practice so much your finer goes numb. I play with my middle fingers only, starting on the left and right arrows. I have to recoment a good song to practice fast hand movment is max forever especaly the trills, nightmare yes, god practice you bet. I know some one who while learning he played max forever like 5 times in a row before a rest.Comment

Re: Any tips for index?
If you're going to play index, practice songs like {Firestorm} to get used to jumpstreams. Firestorm is a pretty low BPM, so the jumpstreams aren't complete hell. Once you can easily FC (with a good PA) Firestorm, then quicker jumpstreams (in the 170-190 range) shouldnt be too hard. Constant jumpstreams at 180+ bpm is...well...not something you'll get used to any time soon.
Other than jumpstreams, awkward patterns are a major index killer. Spins and similar steps that require using the same finger twice take some time to get used to. Once you can easily combo high bpm streams, then awkward patters at a lower bpm seem to come naturally.
Other than those two things, index is close to as good as spread, but if you ever plan to get really low rankings, then spread is the way to go. Unless you're nima or kota, or a few other index players.Comment

Re: Any tips for index?
Nima plays spread/3f, does he not? Because there's no way in hell an indexer can AA/AAA spread songs like he does. Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)Comment

Re: Any tips for index?
Play songs with really fast streams, strange program, vertex, montrous turtles, dont bother with crossovers, if ur gunna cross over misewell start playing spread, since crossing over is VERY difficult to learnComment
