    FFR Widgets thoughts.

I don't want this to sound like a complaint, as I like the whole concept of Widgets. However, is it just me or do the majority of these songs have to do with screaming and sound like heavy metal? Some of that stuff gives me a headache. I personally think there needs to be more diversity in the types of artists. Hurray for one country artist! Although I'm not really a country fan. What I would like to see is some classic rock type songs. I understand that these must be up and coming/ less popular or mainstream bands, but are there really no bands out there pursuing the sound of good ol' rock n' roll?

On a side note, is there any way to accumulate credits on your account by playing those Widgets? I'm assuming not as it says "Sign In" at the end of games even though I'm already signed in.

Drugstore is working on getting a variety of bands. It just so happens that a lot of hard rock/metal bands are willing to give permission.

Also, you can't get credits unless you are playing on the actual FFR game. You can't get anything unless you are playing on the actual game.

Get bands in genres you like to ask for widgets, and bands in genres you like can have widgets.

Drugstore has good connections in the upcoming-metal scene; ergo, we get those songs.

As far as I know, playing the widget levels earns you nothing on your account.

And I agree, more variety would be good, but I'm pretty sure the FFR makers do as much as they can do when it comes to getting artist permissions. In the actual game there's a huge variety.

as of now, playing stuff in widgets will not boost anything in regards to your account. perhaps down the road.

and, as has been mentioned... 6 months ago we couldn't get ANY label to talk to us, at all. now we've got a ton of indie labels and at least 1 major label giving us bands to work with. it's an amazing start, but we can't be picky when it comes to these things. as we continue making them, more and more other bands will pick up on it and it'll grow and spread.

it's a snowball effect, and right now, we've just pushed it down the hill. it's rolling, but it's still small and not going that fast.

Hey, thanks for the replies. Actually a few of the songs are somewhat catchy and I probably wouldn't have ever bothered to listen to them if not for the Widgets. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Another side topic, Am I just missing it, or has the song of the week for FFR stopped happening?

Is that when all the sub. songs are released to the public?
