    R1 Suggestion - Practice Mode

I've been playing a few songs where I constantly miss an arrow at exactly the same combo. It's obnoxious because I can never figured out what arrow I'm missing and how I'm missing it. So here came the idea of Practice Mode.

When you enable Practice Mode from the settings window, all the scores you set are null - they aren't recorded to your grand total or level rank. The main idea of Practice Mode is to have both the arrows and the song that you load slow down to 0.5x (or 0.75x, or both) so you can understand how to combo certain parts of songs.
For example, I may want to enable Practice Mode to understand how to read certain sections of Silence. Or, I may want to enable Practice Mode to understand how to combo the jacks on Nova Pulser.

I have no idea how hard this would be to implement into R1 or how this idea would get approved. But for right now I'm looking for criticism and feedback. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

I don't think this would work.

If you slow down FFR the frames would probably get all messed up or something.

Just SS that single part and visually work on it.

I dunno, if slowing down the frames messed things up, then it seems like speeding them up would fix it, and speeding things up sure doesn't fix much in FFR.

      Anyway, it's a cool idea.

        That's a good idea!

Another suggestion for the practice mode: I think, it would be very useful if you can go directly to halfway a song. So that you don't have to play the first part of the song so much, if you want to practice the last part. This is especially useful for longer songs.

As alley pointed out the only problem would be if you wanted to practice a section of the song which is right at the end, it would take forever to get to. And implementing a solution to this would be quite hard, I imagine.

            Here's the deal:

If you're losing the combo on a certain part, continually tap that pattern on something (a desk, the keyboard when not in FFR, etc.) until you can do it. Or, you can just keep playing the song until you break through. That's how I do it.

If you want to practice something, go to stepmania, and set the music speed to .7x or .8x. Then you can practice that pattern until you get it.

            Also, wrong forum.

StepMania is great for practising patterns (you can just take screenies and make your own small simfiles, for example), although you can't practise for jack syndrome.

Re: R1 Suggestion - Practice Mode

You can't practice for jack syndrome, that's unavoidable, due to the way the game works. So there's no problem with that.

Alright. Well, it doesn't seem like this idea is good. Thanks for all your input, though.

                    How about this?
Cut all the songs into sections in practice mode.
And have the ability to choose what section.

Kinda like practice mode in Guitar Hero.
