    New to Spread

Well, I've been a member for nearly 2 and a ½ years. ...All of that time I've played 1 handed. Now, I've hit that wall, where I have to switch to spread style if I want to progress any.

    So...

Any advice on how I can more smoothly and easily switch from 1 handed to Spread?
All replies are most appreciated. ^^

Examples on what to say could be, to tell me what songs I could play to better myself in the beginning, what keys I should set to be the arrows, how to put up with the realization that I went from "not too bad" to "omg ima n00b!" ...Well, anything really. Please help guys! lol.

Practice, anything and everything. There isn't much of a smooth transition, so don't expect to be as good as you were from the start.

go straight at it, play some easier stuff and get used to the controls, you will get it in the end.
      Yep.

        Re: New to Spread

I tried to learn spread for a while and I had a hard time. Then, one day I saw my brother playing Blank Knowing and watched him hit the staircases (it's arrows cascading back and forth), and for some reason, it hit me right there. I sat down and tried Blank Knowing and got a single-digit-good when I couldn't even previously full combo it.

Blank Knowing may not be your calling, but the main thing is to try a lot of different levels, and take breaks. At one point it will set in, and then it'll hit you, and you'll all the sudden be able to do it. I played one-handed for 2 years as well.

basically the only real advice you can get is to practice. if you want to get a lot better with your spread play skor's emerald sword (if you don't have it dl sm and then ckbmp1) over and over. changing from one handed to spread probably makes runs pretty hard so emerald sword would help with that. basically playing any hard song over and over and over will make you a lot better pretty fast.

Umm... in general the hard part about spread to get used to is stream.

So I guess the progression in terms of songs would be...

            1. Quasar
            2. Delirium
            3. Through the Fire and Flames / One More Lovely
            4. Strangeprogram

Some of these you will need to find on SM.
