Dealing with the keyboard...

Lets say youre playing a game such as StepMania. Lets say youre playing Solo Mode, so youre dealing with 6 buttons, right? Then, you get to a part where you have to hold or hit 4 or more buttons at the same time. I have a USB keyboard, and Im not sure if only USB ones do this, or if all do this. But, if I have to hit 4, 5, or 6 notes at the same time, the keyboard will not do it. It will just take priority of whichever ones you hit first. So, I often find myself breaking combo on harder songs even when I hit all the buttons. It can get pretty frustrating.

What I was wondering if there was anything I could do to fix this problem that would not require buying a new keyboard. Like, maybe a setting that I could tweak? Or anything, of that nature really. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

(Btw: For my key configuration I use: sdf jkl )

You should try setting different keys for the buttons. You can go in the input test located in the options (for Stepmania) or here (for FFR).

The cause is keyboard limitation which means you can't do anything else to counter this problem.

1. Turn numlock off.
2. Change the controls to keys that you can hit more of at once. 6 at once seems a bit...impossible for most keyboards, but you can try different combinations of keys and see if you can find 6 that yours will accept all of at once.

I did a test after what you 2 said, and indeed, the buttons Im pressing can be switched to make it work.

If its buttons that are on the same row and next to each other (sdf jkl), it locks up. But when I tried to hit (sef jil) at the same time, it registered all 6, since the middle buttons on each side are on a different row. I suppose I will have to play like this, although its lot more uncomfortable than my previous setup =/

(But, if anybody knows a way where I can keep my original setup without it locking up, do tell. ^^)

Its really not that bad.

If you put it on Reverse Scroll, C500 Speed, Notebar skin, its really awesome.

Ive been playing it for like 2 - 3 days, and I can play Level 11 - 13 songs. Anybody can do it. You already know how to read notes. You just gotta throw 2 more in there, and get used to the new weird setup.

By KB, you mean Keyboard, right? Im talking about keyboard files.
