    FFR on Major League Gaming?

"Major League Gaming (MLG) is the largest organized league and international sanctioning body for the world's fastest growing competitive sport: professional video gaming. Recognized as the global governing authority for millions of competitive gamers worldwide, MLG's ongoing professional video gaming tournaments have attracted competitors from over 28 countries. Currently expanding worldwide through its international sanctioning body, millions of Major League Gaming fans communicate hourly and participate daily through mlgpro.com, the world's largest competitive video gaming destination. MLG operates its online, television production, game development and product licensing operations through MLG Properties and through MLG Management develops the careers of a roster of the world's most accomplished pro gamers. Headquartered in New York City, Major League Gaming is privately held."

    - Taken from MLGpro.com info page

Wouldn't it be great for publicity if FFR was featured on a major professional gaming site, and better yet, used as one of their feature games? Now I've tried before and their very picky about the games they accept, some of them even require you to attend the tournaments personally.

From what I've heard, a game needs to have the following:

    - Few ways to cheat
    - Very competitive and big community
    - Fun, not only that but easy to catch onto, but hard to get good at

Uhh I just went to there Chicago event, and saw one of the staff members playing stepmania, I asked if I could play. Surprisingly he had BB Evolution, and Dream Battle so I played those, and had a big crowd around me watching, was pretty awesome ^-^, but yeah would be really cool if they picked up like Stepmania, doubt they would pick up ffr.

That sounds great, except I'm not sure how well FFR meets the "Few ways to cheat" part of the criteria.

Edit: To make sure Tass sees it in one of the many places it is on here: http://www.mlgpro.com/forum/sendmessage.php

Great idea, but Stepmania is more likely to make it.

Re: FFR on Major League Gaming?

With the exception of using a trainer to cheat in FFR, Stepmania is far easier to cheat at than FFR is so I'm not so sure about stepmania being accepted. Both might be possible if some preventative cheating measures were taken though....

It'd be just as hard to cheat at FFR live as it normally is...it'd just be so much easier for someone to notice that barely anyone would bother trying to do it. Hmm, my opponent got done with the song 1 minute and 15 seconds after when I did, and they got like 340 goods but beat my by 100 combo...hmm, I wonder what they did? haha

                            They won.

I think it would be wise to think that chances are these tournaments are going to be live, I'm not sure though, I remember seeing something about online tournaments somewhere on their site.

MLG will never make FFR a tourny game, It would be cool I guess but they still wouldnt do it. They focus mostly on console shooters with a few exceptions, check me out on the MLG Shadowrun page
