    Mental Time Slowdown Discussion.

I have always pondered on this idea the past few years more and more as I played FFR.

When you have been playing the game for a long time, and are really into it, concentrating hard. I have been able to notice that the arrows seem to fall slower, This is not a very noticeable speed change, But some people may notice it by accident.

I believe what happens, is a technique for slowing down time a small amount. Now don't laugh at this idea, Because it has been studied by many scientists. What I believe is happening, Is our minds are processing what we are seeing at a faster rate. Thus what we see appears to be moving slightly slower. It's as if the video in you're head has had more picture frames put into it, Raising it's FPS. What happens when you put more frames into a video? It scene moves slower and more smoothly.

For example, Flies. They process what they see at a faster rate, Allowing them to react faster. Giving them a sense of slower time.

They're was a big BBC documentary about TIME http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documen...res/time.shtml Interesting reading.

What if we could learn to control our minds to do this whenever we would like? It would be quite a great thing.

What are everyones thoughts on this?

I do agree the more you play FFR/SM the better your brain becomes at interpreting the arrows and reacting more efficiently and hence more accurately. 3 months ago I couldn't even pass Bomb the Base...

Compelling idea, but I don't think the ability to react quicker means you're slowing the flow of time down, just as running a 200 meter dash faster than someone else doesn't mean you're making the track shorter.

Very interesting, but I have to agree with Ledwix on this.

That's a good point, but it doesn't really counteract the argument posted above. Running the 200m is not reaction-based, other than anticipating the gun. He never said that physical spaces are shorter, he said time appears to be moving slower. Because of that, it isn't a solid counterexample.

Also, he never said you actually slow the flow of time, but it appears to be slowing down.

Who knows this may be more than some crazy crackpot theory. When i play everything seems very relaxed and slow, even with a speed mod and screen cut. But if i get distracted and look away, than try to look back, it seems like everythings going by way faster, just a blur of color and arrows.

                You're not slowing down time.

Quick way to experiment with this...

Play a fast song on SM and record it.
The play the recording and not pay attention and glance at the screen.
                Which seemed faster/slower?
