    Lagging problem

I post this here because there isn't really any "tech support" section in the forums, which would be a good idea.

I get slight chops on my FFR game and I can't seem to understand why. As far as I'm concerned, my comp specs are well fit for this game to run smoothly.

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 64-bit 3500+(2.2GHz)
    RAM: 1024MB RAM
    HD: 200 GB SATA HD
Video Card: ATI Sapphire X800 Pro 256MB

    Things I've tried:

1 - Update my drivers: To me this is the most logical explanation to this lag. If anyone has my video card or somewhat close and could tell me what driver version you have so I can try it,that would be a big help.

2 - Switch Screens: I had a 2 m/s response time screen so I switched it with another monitor just to see if that was the case, it isn't.

3 - Cleared Cache: No difference

4 - Tried LOW RES: It does run much smoother on Low Res, but I have no explanation as to why I wouldn't be able to run it fine on normal mode.

    Thanks in advance

I forgot to mention the internet connection. I know its my computer because my roomate has a half *** comp compared to this one and we are on the same connection, his runs perfectly.

Take a look at what programs you have running at the same time while playing FFR.

Chances are it's something that you're running in the background that's causing your PC to lag.

The computer at my mom's house has the same problem. About the only thing stopping me is the fact that my brother whores off of Kazaa/Limewire (as well as other stuff that he's downloaded) and refuses to delete anything. If your computer has a crapload of unecessary files, clear them out. If that doesn't help, I guess you're screwed.

99% of my comp is on idle process before I open up FFR, I might have MSN on sometimes but I've been having it shut down lately because I don't like it popping up on me all the time. The only thing I have running is my AVG Control Center, and I tried closing it and there was no difference.

I don't use file sharing programs, and this was occuring even if I have little files on my comp(still do), but I will try deleting some things anyway

It's not the fact that he has a P2P program, it's the fact that he downloaded so much crap >_>.

I came upon this just now.. I'm far from sure but I'm left under the impression that my CPU is running my video card twice
