Need tips on jacking.

But seriously, I ****ing suck at jacks. In my quest to gain more Tier Points, I'm hindered by songs like Jelly Roll Blues, and Abtrusity. I simply cannot jack on the FFR timing system (SM is OK, but I still suck at jacks).

Tips appreciated. If only I were ThaoR.

I'm sure by 15,000 games, you'll be used to jacks. Other than that, just hit earlier, and good luck.

Since I didn't play SM much, jacks are easy for me.

My advice is to stop playing SM and get used to the FFR jacks.

You'll eventually get used to them and you'll be really good, but just do what everyone else has already said, hit them early.

well when I see jacks coming I sort of lean foward over my keyboard so the weight is on my arms,and that way I seem to hit them a lot faster. I don't know if that'll be of any help to you though.

ya, seriously just hit them a bit early, or do what I do if its a stupidly retard hard jack, MASH IT UP TO THE EXTREEEEEEEEME...

Jacking is pretty much the only thing I can do. Lower your speedmod (or screencut a little less) works for me. Obviously hit early, the faster the jack the earlier you have to hit. Don't worry about PA at all. For rlyfast jacks, tense at the elbow and your fingers should spaz out. For just wristjacking, you kinda just have to flop your fingers around really fast XD

EDIT- Also, jack considerably far beyond the end of the jack, at least on songs where combo beats PAing. A few boos beats one miss.

This is good advice, hi19hi19. It took me a while to realize this fact, but it's very helpful. It seems counterintuitive because normally with fast jacks you would be inclined to wait a bit longer and just tap the jacks faster, but you must hit earlier all-around. The early tap will clear the first note, but as opposed to a more spaced-jack, a closer jack means by the time you clear the top note, the next note is already passing through your timing window, meaning you must hit again earlier.

It's unfortunate that this is a necessary skill under this engine, but it's kinda fun to gauge things this way.
