anyone notice how alike all of smiley's songs are? listen to Xuxa, Summer speedy miix, and july back to back... they're practically the same song. (or at least as similar as all the paranoia songs in ddr) I'm seriously wondering though, how many of the songs that sound so much alike will there be?
3 versions of one song?!

July and Xuxa yeah, not really Summer. Anubis and Zodiac are like that too I think
It's just how Smiley/Banzai does his stuff usually.4th Official FFR Tournament - Master division champion!

Re: 3 versions of one song?!
It's weird, cause the smiley name leads to kyle ward's page- and most of his stuff sounds different... I dunno- I like all 3 songs- not complaining, just curious
(anubis/ zodiac don't sound quite the same... seriously- those 3 are different instruments, and different speeds, but the sound, and progression is exactly the same)Last edited by Sailortrance; 07-19-2007, 11:31 PM.Comment

Re: 3 versions of one song?!
dude- smiley's songs are awesome- they're impossibly catchy, and fun. I'm just wondering if Kyle started with one idea, and came up with these 3 different songs based on that one theme.if so- that's cool, cause they all 3 are good.Comment

Re: 3 versions of one song?!
Happy Hardcore is a genre which, in order to stay within the genre, requires certain similarities. Pretty much, as an artist, you're limited to piano, keyboard instruments (bells, etc.), or a "happy synth," which just doesn't leave all that much room for innovation.
Kyle Ward makes probably the best Happy Hardcore out there, so if you like the genre at all he's your best bet.
If you dislike the genre then don't complain

Re: 3 versions of one song?!
i originally thought this thread was about the Making April song Driveway... not that any of you would be able to know this, but there are currently 3 versions of that song in the FFR Database. Code named:
Driveway
Driveway vEasy
Driveway vNoob
that is all.
ps - smiley's happy hardcore is awesome. but yes, some of it does sound similar. specifically delirium, xuxa, july, utopia, destiny. summer speedy... not so much. nor hyper hyper.RIPComment

Re: 3 versions of one song?!
I personally don't really like Sharpnel. His music is annoying. Only songs I like from him at Zephon, FF and Lumina. Wayyy overhyped/rated.Originally posted by Evascythei hope you are kidding, sir.
do you like any of Kyle Ward's aliases?
Kyle A. Ward is alright, but I wouldn't really listen to his music outside of ITG.
Now Onoken... that's a good artist IMO.Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)Comment
