How to do better with streaming 16th notes

There's only two ways I can think of right now to improve your reaction time, therefore helping with streaming (constant flow of) 16th notes.

    1. Change to a faster Speed Mode
By making the arrows come at you faster, you get used to reacting a lot faster than usual.

    2. Cut off the bottom of the screeen.
Basically, make the score and part of the bottom of the game invisible to you during gameplay. By doing this, the arrows are more sudden, and, again, making you react faster.

With practice of either or both methods, your reaction time will improve and you'll notice when you play on 16th notes.

If anyone else has any other suggestions, please post them here.

Both of these methods helped me greatly in improving my game play. I recommend it. Another thing, I suggest playing without sound, that way you get the rythm of the arrows.
Removed a .gif image so your total signature size isn't well over 1MB. Keep this in mind for the future.

Those work for anything in FFR, his "Cut off the bottom" method is called screen cutting.

It's not really screen cutting, but I tend to cut off the score just so I don't look at it during game play to see if I have gotten any goods.

I kind of wish I could sideways screen cut so I would stop looking at my opponent's combo during MP. I always seem to have that problem.

Those are okay ideas, but put in SM.

Thanks for telling me this because when i was done reading...i went and played FFR using both techniques and with the sound off, and after a few minutes my reaction time was so much better!

I hate CIA rave so much now because it took me forever to FC <_<;; I prefer Gradeus to work on my streaming abilities, though you need some credits for that =P

Basically, I screen cut and speed up my game to practice. Practicing really is all you can do.

CIA Rave helps me alot, and so does Gradeus.

Put on the modifier "Sudden" in Stepmania. Play easy songs, then play slowly up to harder songs. This helps reaction time.

Also, use the C mod. The C mod is "Constant (insert BPM here)", like C400 is 400 BPM constantly, and it also eliminates all pauses and BPM changes in a song. I use this & slowly increase it by 25. I seem to do alot better by using it.
