    Creating songs...

Hey, i am new to simfile creating, and i was wondering if there was another way of creating simfiles other than using stepmania, because using that is complicated, is there a program out there that i could listen to the song while inputting the correct keys? I'd like to be able to make the stepfile go to the beat as i want it, without guessing when which key should go, then listening to the song only to find its totally wrong. Can someone please help me?

um, there's this program i have, forgot what it's called. Wait a second.. *Looks in documents*... DDR Dream Studio. Go on google and search ddrdreamstudio or something.

EDIT: Or just keep using SM Editor and it will get alot easier, trust me. It's not compliacated at all.

StepMania is the easiest way to make a simfile.

Also SM has a record feature so you can tap away to the song.

        Lastly.. Notepad works too...

As for the link I can't help you.

            Ctrl+R

I've only had something good come out of it maybe twice, when there's a rhythm that I seriously can't find on my own. That was back when I was just starting, though.

Just use Stepmania. It's not complicated at all, and even if it is, you won't find anything easier.

I just wanna use this for streams. If I do them manually, I tend to come out with seemingly random-arranged streams, instead of the somewhat index friendly ones that are wanted.

The Record feature, more often than not, ends up producing the lovechild of a muppet and a mutant frog. With a little bit of Richard Simmons thrown in for good measure.

                  It's not pretty. =(

But seriously, the SM editor is about the best thing you'll find. The program mentioned by "thechild" above is found here.

Personally, I recommend finding the release of SM 3.9 or 3.95 and using that. I don't care for SM4.0.
