    SOTW ? - Sympathizer

Not sure if a thread's been made for this, but I couldn't find one..

Wanted to make this thread to personally thank Tass for completely ****ing up one of my favorite files and what would have potentially been a good file by me for a change. I sent in a revision 3 weeks ago, and responded to one of your messages saying "Sympathizer will probably be added soon" by saying, specifically, "make sure it's the revised version". Not only did you miss the version that should have been put into the game, which was the 3rd or 4th revision I sent recently, but you put in the VERY FIRST version from like 5 months ago.

If it wasn't your fault Tass (I have no clue who else's it could be..) then sorry, but it was someone's lack of paying attention that caused this. Since the revision has a lot more notes than the current version, it most likely can't be put in. So, enjoy another piece of **** file from your's truly.

It's a subscriber's song, not released for public yet.

Although I felt 24th short rolls are off and some weird stream patterns, fairly fine challenging song.
Song length was ok, I didn't feel boring at all.

Difficulty is around high-5, the only semi-hard song this time.

Oh, so that's why I can't find it. Well, I could find it if I had my subscription by now...

        Oh well.

i honestly didn't even see your revision emails until today. but for the 50,000th time... this is why you don't send me your **** files until they've been tested and tested again.

you seem to be the only god damn person i have an issue with this about, and i've had one with you on EVERY single file of yours i've released. would you like me to remove all your files from the queue so you can re-submit them to me after you've tested them a few more times?

what i added was the only version i had.

also.... if the revision file has MORE notes than the current version, its fine. if it has less notes... then it is about a 10-15 minute pain for me, but doable.

I DID test this one over and over again before sending it in for the first time. But, believe it or not, people improve over time, which is what I did. This is one of my older files, and the revision I sent in 3 weeks ago was revised to my CURRENT talent. The file seemed fine back 5 months ago when I was just starting.

And you haven't had a problem with my files every single time. Now you're just blowing it out of context. And even with the files that you did have a problem with, half of them were your own damned fault. Ride Out had a revision I forgot to send in, which was my own fault. And Let Mom Sleep, yeah, that was me ****ing up again. Both times, I've admitted fault for it multiple times. But J219, I sent you the revision during the subscriber period. You for some reason thought J219 was fine on it's own without acknowledging the revision, even when you said before that an added "bonus" to subscribers is the ability to revise their files before they're released to the public. I did everything as I should have, you're the one that didn't want to take the time to put the file in.

But this time, I've sent you the file and reminded you about it in the forums. I'm not the one at fault here. I understand honest mistakes are made but after the J219 incident I'm starting to get pissed that I'm getting a reputation as a ****ty file author because potentially good files keep getting ruined by minor screw ups.

You're bitching about J219. You say you sent in a revision for it which Tass did not upload.

Tell me... When did you send in this revision? If you don't remember, Tass left PA less than a week after he added J219 to the game. And for these few weeks that he's been gone, he's had absolutely no access to the converter so he couldn't possibly upload any changes you have made IF you sent in the revisions after the date that he left.

He got his desktop set back up less than three days ago. You can't really say anything about that. It was just a bad time for your file to go into the game. You can't blame it on Tass because he had to move to somewhere 3,000 miles away. If your file had errors in it, that's your fault. If a bad simfile from you is released, make it up with a better one next time.

                  I kinda liked J219....
Maybe I would have liked it no matter what because it's an awesome song...

Rebirth, IIRC I sent in the revision the following day. I got a message about 2 or 3 days later saying the current version had a good enough reaction and it wouldn't be worth it.

You should test your files at least for a couple of days before you send them to Tass.

What you are doing just causes a confusion.

Dude, don't worry about it. Make up for it by making better files next time. Tetris Remix sucked hard, and I admit that, but I just got over it and kept trying to improve.

And that's true. Sure, you couldv'e fixed a couple of spots to make it a little better, but the simfile is good enough as it is right now. I know you probably want to have the best possible chart for that song in the game, especially since you fixed it afterwards, but if people like it as it is I'd just take that and call it a win. No adjustments needed

Only gripe I have with Sympathizer is the fact that there really isn't much of a song. Even with my treble and bass up, it saounds like a FL preset song. =P

send me the revision again, if you wouldn't mind. i'll test it.

but put it this way.... i've added something like 130 songs to the game, if not more. i've had issues with about 5 of them. 3 of them are yours... let mom sleep, j219, and now sympathizer. and i can't even remember the other 2, i'm just assuming i've had some kind of issue.

and i'm not including the 2 issues i've had with jimerax files (including harry potter, which will be fixed very shortly), because that isn't his OR my fault. nor am i including sync issues, which again, isn't really anyone's fault.

the only other people who constantly send changes to their files after they've been accepted are:

Kit, who bugs me non-stop on AIM until I actually test and change her file to the new version
                              and
Blazze, whose revised files go into the next batch for re-testing... and in memory, which got queue'd about 3 different times... now got un-queue'd from another change he made. then again, i don't really know why he bothers, since i highly doubt any of his queue files will actually ever make it into the game.

so, yea. its all you. you're the only one i have an issue with. not to mention, you're also the only one who seems to have a huge beef as to where your files go (aka, no tokens).

                              awfully demanding.
