I use audacity... works well if you have a good sound card... if not, then don't bother-- it will skip tiny parts of the song and just move on without them...
I've tried hypercam 2, and it does cause a lot of lag, but I've gotten it to work on crappy celeron processors... I'm making a core 2 duo this month, so I'm guessing that it would work better that way...
As other people have said-- camera is probably the best way. If you don't want keytaps in the background, try cam studios (not camista studios) or hyper cam 2 with something like audacity... If your computer is crappy as well, then you ought not to be making videos
