        Re: Question for the pros

I'm no pro, but I started three years ago, didn't make an account until half a year later.

Just practice practice practice. That's about it. Playing some songs over and over again helps.

Thanks for all the output guys. It was fantastic to read what everyone had to say. Yes I still do it one handed, I suppose a spread would make it easier. I've tried it, but with my lack of coordination, I get lazy and go back to 1 handed. I should really do it all over again with a spread i suppose.

Also is screencutting what I assume it is? I'm assuming its just covering part of the screen either by making the arrows hidden or by physically putting a piece of paper or some other object to cover half the screen, making only a portion visible and make it easier to view arrows. Please do correct me if im wrong. Thanks again and happy arrowing.

OK well I started like 3 years ago and I played one-handed. I could AAA some easy songs but I felt like that was it and I wasn't improving to more difficult songs. So I put everything aside and started spread.

Basically, 2 weeks later I was FC'ing CIA Rave which I couldn't even pass before without mashing.

                  Re: Question for the pros

Started in October of '04, started out one handed just like you, and was horrible at ffr, most I could do is fc Secret Zombie Room and such. Played 1 handed for about 6-8 months, then multiplayer came out and realized that ZOMG PEOPLE PLAY TWO HANDED!!!

So I gave it a shot, and switched from 1 handed, to two handed 3 finger. Thats when I started getting alot better alot faster, within 2 or 3 months I could fc Cia Rave and such, but after playing that way for about 8 months also, I hit a wall, and wasn't improving very fast at all. That's when I switched to spread...as much as I sucked at it, I kept trying, and after about 3 weeks...I had completely surpassed my 3 finger skill level, and never looked back.

So after playing spread for 8 months or so, I reached a solid tier 2 rank, and then autofail came out >.> and I'm not sure what happened, but it exploded my skill level 10 fold. So at almost a year of playing spread, I'm one of the top 3 FFR players around, and continue to get better and better every day.

                      Re: Question for the pros

Im not sure if im considered a pro but i started around september 2006 and I first played FFR, i was able to FC songs like one last battle, breaking the common and such.

I was playing spread with 3 fingers for about 4 months then i meet a guy named Jerred a.k.a TK_unreal in MP and started to get pwned by him. Then he asked me to change into 4 finger spread. So i did, and guess what?

My skills got up 10X better and i was able to FC songs like moonbeam and such.

After a few months of playing, new members come and more people were getting better. So Chris a.k.a Rebirth0 told me to start playing SM for a while to improve my PA. (Perfect accurately)

After a few months doing that, i came back to FFR and started AAAing ez stuff like Trip to the moon, breaking the common, come with me and such..

Then after a while, SM didnt help as much anyone and so i start practicing on FFR only instead of SM.

After a month of doing that, My FFR skills kept improving and finally im able to AAA harder songs like Straight to video and From Mount Chorus.

Ever since that auto-fail thing came out, i dont know but my skills went very high and now im one of the best desent female players in FFR. Although im not the best but someday, ill get there....
