Lately, after playing only one song, both my hands get really sore. I can't move my fingers fast at all because they slow down and the day after, I have trouble even writing. I can't figure out what to do about it, so I'm asking you. Does anyone have this same problem? If so, how do you fix it? If anyone can supply me with a suggestion that works, I will award you 1k credits.

Re: Sore Hands
Sharp pain: Ice it over
Nagging pain: Cover your hand with something hot like a hot washcloth or a heatpad or something. I usually just run my hands under hot water.
Or just play through the pain an it'll decrease by itself. -
Re: Sore Hands
Don't play as much in one day. That or do the opposite and play stamina draining songs more often and it will go away.

Re: Sore Hands
How do you play? Changing the way you play can make your hands feel a lot better.
For example. I used to play <, V, Num8, Num6 and I believe I had the same problem as you. Within my first 3 or 4 games of playing using D, F, J, K, my hands felt dramatically better.

^ v 8 6 hurts my wrists a little, index hurts my fingertips, and askl hurts my wrists a good amount if i dont keep them in the air. yeah, just keep your arms in the air while playing. It may seem tiring at first, but it will hurt a lot less.Comment

Re: Sore Hands
Go see your doctor IMO. You might have Carpel Tunnel...or Arthritis....which I hope you don't have.
I have had Carpel Tunnel A LOT. I've recently gotten it again, which sucks. Oh well...playing too much FFR or SM can kill your hands.

Re: Sore Hands
It always feels like my vain is going to pop out. It's more of a pain that literally causes me to not be able ot move my fingers. It's not that if I move them it hurts, which it does, it's that my fingers physically won't allow me to move them. I don't know what it is, but I tried everyone's suggestion and nothing is helping.Comment

I remember one time I couldn't keep up with anything faster than a 16th note. I took a break about 3 or so days and just generally didn't use may hands for much. After that it was gone.It always feels like my vain is going to pop out. It's more of a pain that literally causes me to not be able ot move my fingers. Re: Sore Hands
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. The median nerve controls sensations to the palm side of the thumb and fingers (although not the little finger), as well as impulses to some small muscles in the hand that allow the fingers and thumb to move. The carpal tunnel - a narrow, rigid passageway of ligament and bones at the base of the hand ¾ houses the median nerve and tendons. Sometimes, thickening from irritated tendons or other swelling narrows the tunnel and causes the median nerve to be compressed. The result may be pain, weakness, or numbness in the hand and wrist, radiating up the arm. Although painful sensations may indicate other conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common and widely known of the entrapment neuropathies in which the body's peripheral nerves are compressed or traumatized. It always feels like my vain is going to pop out. It's more of a pain that literally causes me to not be able ot move my fingers. It's not that if I move them it hurts, which it does, it's that my fingers physically won't allow me to move them. EDIT: Look at my post above about Carpal Tunnel...it's relevant.

Re: Sore Hands
Yeah, I have stupid CTS. But honestly though, keeping your wrists in the air my not help immediately, but it does help in the long run.Comment

Re: Sore Hands
Uh-oh, I think I might have that than. I'm only 14, I can't have that already. Well, it would explain a lot. Is there any ways to cure it?Comment

Re: Sore Hands
Pretty much what rshadow said. I just want to point out anyone can get CTS. I got it last year, when I was 14. Playing a lot causes it. Cool down for a bit.

Re: Sore Hands
imo leaning in helps, if your wrists hurt use your arms and center more, or the opposite. for about a week (3 weeks ago) my left wrist hurt whenever I moved it or picked up anything, even a pencil. it went away eventually, so I'm not worried.Comment
