also... in the past year or so, we've added about 500,000 new members. the year before was another 300,000 or so. so the site has been around for about 4.5 years, but 2/3 of the members have joined in the past 2 years.

give or take.

this shows that the site has really started to grow in the past year or two, vs when it was a young site. a lot has to do with word of mouth. also has to do with FFRspace, metrivia, and all the other new site features over the past year or two.

but, uh... funny. nobody who has posted in this thread joined before me. not even close. doug and cheese are a year after me.

I've been for 0.25 years. I'm in the top 4,000 and have more posts than you. This game isn't made of all vets.

Noone is flaming, there just speaking the truth, your not a "veteran" for one, and why do you except people who played 4 years ago or whatever to still be playing now?

What they did atleast isn't this forum's definition of flaming. If it is, the flaming is justified, seeing as they think that you made a generally useless thread (which I agree).

Here, I'll even look on Wikipedia for you:

I don't see them delibrately insulting you. Either way, a crapload of forum members post in the manner they do, and you don't see anyone else complaining about it, except for the occasional whiny bitch.

ive only been playin for .37 years. i dont mind all the new people that join. it just makes me mad when im cruising profiles and i see games played under 50 for ppl who have been part of this site over .20years.

yea not many people have been member over a few years so of course there is going to be alot of n00bs.

Wow. I knew the site had been around for a while and i even watched all the new parts of the site go up thinking "well thats cool". But i never imagined that so many people joined in that same time..

I'm not saying i hate new people. I'm saying theres a lot of them and its kinda weird having so many when this game is like 5 years old. maybe 6.. i dunno.

I guessed something like this was the case. A new site generally takes some time to build up a fan/user base. There won't be a whole lot of users in the beginning, but as the site grows and becomes more popular, more and more users will join.

Another thing to consider is that people who have been around for a long time sometimes end up needing a break. Maybe you don't see them because they're not as active now as they used to be.

As for my account age, I'm 2.86 years right now. I think I'm about 2 months away from being here for 3 years. FWIW.
