I have been playing for quite some time, but for some reason im still having trouble with getting the amount of goods i get down. Sometimes if im really doing bad, my goods will be more than my perfects ('specially on MP). Its not that im mashing or anything, i hardly ever get a miss or a boo, but i just want to know: should i be pressing the keys to the sound of the music, trying to hit the key right when the arrows align, a little before, or trying to make a cool rythm with my taps? help?

1) Screen shrink.
2) Hit the arrows to the arrows and dont depend too much on the sound because it could be offbeat by a bit.
3) Go AAA all of the easy crap. Trust me, itll get your PA a lot better.
4) In MP, put your quality to low (the q in the top left corner).
5) If you want optimal performance, also put low quality during SP too.

Definitely SS, practice AAAing the simplest songs, and low quality. Playing a lot of SM helped me with my PA also, but I've heard that it doesn't work for everyone.Comment

It might not be you. The reason for your bad PA could be due to your keyboard or computer. For example, I can FC {Rose} regularly on my cousin's computer with 20-30 goods. But when I play it on my computer I usually end up with over 100 goods(and before I changed my keyboard I was getting ~200 goods).
Also, you're not the only one with PA problems in MP. Whenever I play I get like 50%(or more) goods than I normally get even though I'm playing the same exact way.
You're probably doing things right, but I think some computers/keyboards just give you different accuracy :\Comment
