    Hand Placement help

Hey I've been playing for 6 months now, and I'm an average player, i can beat any song and i can FC a lot of challenging/very challenging songs. My question though, is this:

When i play, are my fingers supposed to be raised the whole time or actually ON touching the keys, ready to hit them?

I just started noticing now that when i play i keep my fingers suspended in mid-air. Now, quickly, how i play. I play 2 hands, right hand middle finger on left arrow key, right pointer on up key, right thumb on down, and left pointer on left. I believe it's called spread, but I'm not sure. Anyways, when i play fast songs, mostly songs with fast trills. I can combo them usually, depending on how tired i am or how fast they are, but some songs such as BB Revenge and other Master's only songs i can't do as well on.

So my big question is, do you and should i play with my fingers raised in air or on the keys? I figured that i could hit trills faster with my fingers on the key (makes sense) but I'm so used to having my fingers raised that usually i lift my fingers after or during the trills, which screws me up A LOT. So i would be happy for peoples opinions, and maybe a video of how you or someone else plays? (Focusing on the person's fingers, i mean)

    Anyways, thanks.

You shouldn't play how others play.

Play how YOU feel comfortable switching.

Personally I keep my fingers touching the keys unless i'm in a stream or doing jumps.

Yeah I'm not planning on switching every way i play, i just thought maybe it was me keeping my fingers up that might mess me up on the trills, but hey, practice can fix thought hopefully.

I personally thinks it different for every player. I've switched my hands around for a while, and I can never play the way others tell me they do it. I just put my fingers down and play & It works fine for me lol.
