After playing it a few times, I have only one real complaint about this file: where it begins. Far too many times I've had to restart because it really seems like the starting place should be later or earlier, and I've let the first arrow just go by...=/
The rest is fun and challenging though, which is good =)
Kilga's file minus all the good parts. I decided to drop stepping this becuase I thought you would do a good job, Rebirth.
This, plainly, is below what I expected.
The melody is stepped in one section with doubles, and in another with singles. While your 16ths are index friendly, at least TRY to show some attempt at making them pitch relevant, or something. I cringed when I got to the alternating pattern part that Kilga had stepped really nicely, and all you did was throw in random dumb**** 16th patterns. The non-stream 16ths did not flow at all and seemed almost as retarded as the ones in Sensorium or Takecore. The second solo in the background (that starts about 2/3 of the way in, with 12ths) is synced really poorly. You half follow the melody and half the background solo, and neither works out really well. The jumpstream at the end seemed like an excuse to hide how ****ty your patterns were. Pitch relevance would have worked better there, too.
In short, stop ****ting out files faster than even I used to, and make things more technical.
Bye.

What itmorr says is true purely for the fact that this is an SM file. It was never intended to be stepped for FFR. FFR needs to go back the roots of how they got popular. The songs were unique, the artists were unknown and getting attention through making FFR files.
Now it seems like it's a mad rush to get as much SM files on to FFR. What is there now, shihen, unknown girl, gaussian blur, BB Evolution. It's starting to turn into an SM clone with the song selection.
I'd rather see the original files continue to go in.
me too TRD... but we're not going to deny a file from being added to FFR purely because it is a popular SM song.
i love that people are stepping Torley Wong songs, or stuff off of pdmusic.org, or random DM Ashura songs, or other random songs that nobody knows of. stuff from random artists who submit their average songs into the FFR Submissions Forum. etc etc.

I've felt that way since Strangeprogram and especially Lawn Wake IV. It was like who ever got permission from The Flashbulb just wanted to make FFR seem SM'y.

post-dumps abstractly represent the existential nihilism that the song invokes in the listener with negative space, evoking the ephemeral nature of the mind - the journey of stepmania begins in hope yet soon becomes corroded into a dialectic of futility, leaving only a sense of dread and the unlikelihood of a new synthesis
hi19: I honestly don't give a shit what you think about any of my simfiles. You have made so many bland, boring simfiles with dull songs that I've lost interest in almost anything you step. Dazzling Soul is the best sim you've made, and probably the best you'll ever make. Though, I'm sure you're thinking the same thing about me and my simfiles. I step a bunch of different types of music for this game though. The genre of the music for my simfiles is much wider than yours is. Step something interesting. You did a good job with Dazzling Soul, now let's see something else.
You can try to restep any of the songs I stepped for a v2, but I doubt you'll get anything that would be better
while some of hi19's files are similar... that can be said about anyone who has submitted many files. people have said the same about you Rebirth. and I notice many of jx's files to be a bit similar in style. do you expect an artist to paint in all different styles? no... usually they go off of the base of 1 style, with different flair and touch added. BUT... what about Jurs OP or Improv? both are different than the standard 16th file. World of Dreams is different, in an all 8th jump way, EternuS is all 12ths... etc etc. i could name differences in hi19's files across the board. i could do that for ANYONE's files. no 2 files are the same.
Where did people get the idea that FFR artists all had be totally unknown people?
Yeah, we happily take stuff from unknown people and that does help their exposure a lot, but that in no way means we're even slightly averse to the idea of popular songs being in FFR. It's quite the contrary...more popular songs means FFR becomes more popular.

Someone please cut the time we have to wait for that first arrow to come up. I could run and get a sandwich before it does, not to mention the fact that you could extend the intro a bit, and by that i mean making the steps earlier. It just sucks to mess up on a stupid part (Far too many inadvertent jacks in this file, its annoying.) and then click try again to wait around for 10 full seconds before the song starts.
~-[L2D]-~
Other than that, the files good, the jumps are ****ing annoying though, and almost impossible to all combo due to rjs. 1190 is my best thus far, and that has given me rank 12.
Edit: It's approximately 14 seconds before the first arrow. and I screw up 9 times out of ten during the long doubles section or the first set around combo 700.
